The College is presently accepting applications from students who wish to attend either the Westville or the Pietermaritzburg campus during the 2024 academic year. Dear Prospective Undegreed B.Ed. Honours Student (but who has ACE, HDE and FDE). Send an online application if you want to be considered for the Bachelor of Education with Honors program at this prestigious university. BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (HONOURS)

The purpose of the B.Ed. Hons
- The B.Ed. Hons are made to enhance the skills of knowledgeable teachers, curriculum experts, system managers, or educational researchers. By earning this credential, students will be ready to start a program of study leading to an M.Ed. at HEQF level 9.
- Students must choose a specialization for this degree, and they must do their own independent research project. While students may pursue the degree for a variety of reasons, the Honours degree’s primary goal is to lay the groundwork for further academic study and research.

Who Qualifies To Apply For Honours At UKZN
a) Applicants may be registered for the qualification of Honours in any College, provided that they have:
completed a Bachelor’s degree that the relevant college deemed acceptable; received admission to the status of that degree under Rule GR7(a); or demonstrated the level of competence outlined in Rule GR7 (b).
b) A College may prescribe further minimum criteria for admission to study.
All applicants are required to have completed a Degree majoring in Education.
OR
All applicants must have earned any other degree that is pertinent to the specialization, and these applicants must also hold a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE).

Applications are done online. Please go to https://erpweb.ukzn.ac.za/pls/ukznint/gen.gw1pkg.gw1startup?x_processcode=UKZN_REQUEST and follow the guidelines. The Closing date for applications is 30 September. Selection will begin in November. If you are selected, an R250 acceptance fee is payable by the first week of January to secure your place.
